New VPN blocks started after the State Duma elections

テキストサイズ

After the parliamentary elections in Russia, a sharp increase in problems with accessing bypass tools was recorded. Over the past seven days, reports of new restrictions have been received from at least ten specialized providers.

Technical issues intensified early in the week, reaching their peak on September 25, when users experienced unstable connections. One provider had to replace eight servers starting September 21, while other developers reported blocks on specific IP addresses and foreign locations.

Outlook on restrictions and traffic analysis methods

Alexey Kozlyuk, Chairman of the VPN Guild, characterized the current events as the development of a large-scale restrictive campaign that began back in August. In his opinion, network scanning methods, as well as Russian mobile applications capable of detecting active secure connections, can be used to identify network infrastructure.

The expert believes that it is impossible to completely shut down such technologies in the country, but secure connections will become more complex and costly for users. They will have to regularly switch protocols and servers due to unstable connections, and in the future, a fee for foreign internet traffic might be introduced as a measure of economic pressure.

Using a reliable service like HiroVPN helps minimize risks and stably bypass such restrictions without losing connection quality.
